Name:Syrusan Elle -prefers Syrus-
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Race: Caucasian
General Features: Syrus has shoulder-length jet black hair, which she dyed all on her own. It used to be a dark brown. Her eyes are a steely gray, almost blue color, and her skin is pale. Her right arm is decorated with tattoos, mostly flowers. On her stomach, reaching up from her pelvis, is a string of thorny roses that arcs up to her belly-button. Her eyes are almost always coated in black, and her hair is always down.
More in-depth, the flowers on her arm symbolize eternal life, their stems hooking onto each other to create an unending spiral-like pattern. The roses on her hip hold a symbolic meaning as well. On the largest one just at the top of her left hip, there are the initials KD painted onto one of the petals. They stand for Kyle Daby, her very first love. He was her best friend. They dated about a week, broke it off and got to be closer friends for another few months. When Syrus confessed she was wrong to break up in the first place with him, they dated again, this time for an entire year, before she found him cheating on her in his garage.
She never forgave him, but she couldn't get him out of her head for a long time. Writing him on her body permanently seemed to ease the pain, but she stills thinks about how it went wrong.
In her earlier years, Syrus had an eating disorder, quite commonly known as Anorexia. She was fixed on the idea that if she was skinnier, people would like her. Syrus has always been rebellious, pushing away from the crowd, but for a few months of her ninth grade life, she went through a phase that no one could help her with. She finally stopped herself when people started laughing at her rather than loving her, and when the counselors began to ask questions, she put on the pounds real fast.
When she reads, Syrus has to wear glasses, which is fine with her, but she finds herself breaking them more commonly than she'd like to admit. They're thick-rimmed and rectangle, 'emo-glasses', if your into the label thing. In just the right light, weirdly, these glasses bring out otherwise non-existent freckles on her pale cheeks.
Personality: Syrus is a loner by nature, but when she opens up, she's funny and witty. Very sarcastic, but funny. She prefers to hang out by herself, listen to her iPod, write poetry, and study biology. She wants to be a mortician, then work her way up to coroner. But she makes a few extra dollars here and there selling her poetry to small-time publishers.
In her spare time, to earn even more pocket money, Syrus will DJ at Harlequin, where one night stands are like drinking: hard to avoid and easy to access.
Syrus normally scares people off with her appearance and choice of profession, but in truth, she's a good kid, she just doesn't know how to show it that clearly. A main reason she didn't have many boyfriends was because she couldn't figure out how to talk to them, how to tell them how she felt, even kissing was hard, even as she got older.
History: Syrus grew up with your average family, right here in Gemnii. She was always an outcast in school, failing everything but science, her favorite subject. When the day came in seventh grade to dissect frogs, every girl in her class took the computer method, while she opted for the actual frog. Few boys liked her, family's eyes were always turned to the perfect, jock older brother, whom she was constantly compared to. Eventually she found out that to be a coroner, or even a mortician, you needed to work hard in other courses than science too. So she started getting her grades up. That still didn't help her dark and foreboding attitude. Soon everything she owned was black.
But then she lightened up a little, figured out she looked good in reds, and tried a new approach to life.
Her brother was always the favorite. Ever since she popped out of the womb, there was something she failed miserably at that her big brother could do better. Ryan, who was naturally a sweet, caring boy, had made every attempt to bond with his sister, play games with her, be her friend. But every time his parents would push them apart, saying how violent she could be or how horrible it would be if one of her 'wretched little mood swings' was directed at him. Ryan loved his baby sister, he just wasn't allowed to show it in any way.
And because of this, Syrus grew up to be envious of him, jealous of his perfection. Every sport he went for he succeeded in, every class he was in he passed, every college he applied to accepted him, every girl he brought home was just as perfect and blond as him. He was everything she wasn't, and oil and water don't mix.
Syrus completely abhorred her parents. Always pushing her away, ignoring her, pretending she wasn't there. She might as well have been invisible, for they sure acted that way. Needless to say, Syrus grew up on her own, which added to her present-day disposition.
Family: She has a 51 year old mother, a 55 year old father, a 22 year old brother, who went to New York for college. All the rest of her family lives out in Nebraska somewhere.
